The Color Me Red & Blue 5k run was hosted at Grafton High on Saturday April 20th from 9am to 12pm.

The funds were intended to support the Grafton After Prom event, and participants were allowed to bring their dogs.

Due to storms the day prior to the run, the course was changed. The course was to be ran twice, and started by the student parking lot, went around the school and track, and onto the trail; however many people went around the course a third time.

Participants who signed up for the run received goodie bags, which included a shirt, coupons, and more.

“The color run was really fun, I’m glad I got to enjoy it with my favorite thing, my dog,” said Molly Fleri, who ran the 5k with her dog, Marley Alexander Fleri.

Volunteers helped to throw colors, cheer on participants, and pass out water.

“I helped to register people who that had not yet pre-registered. I loved seeing all of the cute dogs running on the 5k,” said Jasmine Patel, a senior who volunteered with NHS.

“I volunteered at the water station. There were a lot of dogs, some were really big, like they were just straight wolves. Molly Fleri’s dog was really cute though,” said Christopher Mells, a senior.

Unfortunately some tents did blow over as a result of the winds, but overall the run was a success.
